Cool Summer Garden

Funny I haven't created a Treasury in ages and wound up making 2 just in the past week . I imagine it's because I've been spending so much time revamping my shop listings that it's just come with the territory, literally.  Whatever the case I created this new one today titled Cool Summer Garden~ it was a fitting delight from the early summer heat of the day.

Print-Your-Own and Save!

Did you  know I offer print-your-own cards, labels, tags? Yep, for most of us time, money and the environment are all precious commodities.  I love these sets because you buy them once and print them over and over again so they save on all three!

Many of come in an EDiTaBLe format too ~ this is where you can actually type your own message, title or name on  the image and then print them out.  It's super easy and you can use them over and over again.  They look wonderful and so elegant!

New Customer Shout Outs

As promised I have a few more customer shout outs to share with you. These projects were especially unique in that each one stretched my skills and abilities but in the end we're all super happy with the results so here they are...

The Lantern Bearers

Created for a wonderful non-profit organization this theme took several turns during it's creation but in the end the customer selected to go with a look reminiscent of Maxfield Parrish's beautiful painting by the same title. The trickiest part about this theme was creating the lanterns from scratch but I absolutely love the final outcome and their luminescent appearance.

Beyond the Lillypad

Next up is this Etsy shop set and ad button created for Beyond the Lillypad. For this project the customer was looking for something detailed and whimsical, much like the butterfly image in my banner originally for Good Morning Butterfly and so this theme took on a life of it's own as the various images and techniques were 'sewn together' to create an other-worldly environment.

Memory Bound

The last item up is this blinkie button I created for Memory Bound. I usually don't show the many buttons and badges I create but this little guy is unique in that it's the first "blinkie" I've ever created. It doesn't seem to work in this posting but you can see it working there on my right sidebar under the Sponsors section.
I'm really excited to have learned this new technique because it opens up a whole new world of creative fun for me and adds one more item to the plethora of goodies I can offer my customers.

Playing with Occasions

I've been playing around with some new ideas and just recently came up with some whimsical alternatives to store bought greeting cards. These are print-your-own cards I've begun working on and already have a few listed in my shop. Some offer the ability to select a saying, such as in the case of this one titled Garden's Lace...While others are in a single theme, such as this birthday card adapted from my blog theme Birthday Bash...

I think they offer a nice handmade alternative to big conglomerate greeting cards and they save the customer money because you can print them over and over again ~ pretty sweet!

I was amazed with the print quality too and found that when printed on a high quality brochure paper the colors really pop. Keeping true to the helpful 'angel~within' I also include a sheet of instructions and handy tips with the purchase.

I'm still working on adapting more of my themes to these cards which is turning a surprisingly fun process and hope they're an enticing new asset to my little Etsy shop.

Holly Jolly ~

Ok, here's something strange... did you know we're half way to Christmas?? No, neither did I and I'm not sure I even wanted to know, but apparently my favorite online wholesaler figured it was a good occasion for holding a sale (?!?). Since I'm no genius when it comes to sales & marketing, I'm sticking with my pledge to follow suit and so I'm holding a sale too. Holding sales at the same time as a major wholesaler has proven to take alot of the guess work out of the process, which is always a good thing, although some of their themes are just a bit too strange.

Anyhoo, the timing couldn't be better as I just discovered another cool app through Etsy Apps ~ see my earlier post ~ I'm using a sale program from Etsy On Sale. I set a few parameters and the app does the rest ~ adds sales info to my shop listings and changes the prices, it even advertises my sale through their website and creates a direct link to a sale page ~ wow!

It's the first time I'm using this new app so I'll definitely let you know of any glitches I find but it seems pretty great so far and super easy to set up. Oh and if you're interested in checking out my sale ~ you can save 25% off everything in my shop thru June 30th, whoot!.

Cool Tools

I know many of you are like me and have your Etsy shops where you sell your own handmade creations. Those of you who do use Etsy also know they've undergone some amazing changes over the past several months; reinventing their page layouts, adding new functionality, and a slew of other features that even now, I'm just beginning to explore.

Today, I noticed a new link on my sidebar ~ it may have been there for ages but I just happen to find it today and it's titled "Apps" (last link under the "Your Account" section).

There I found a plethora of cool apps to help promote our shops and assist us in getting more from our Etsy experience. While perusing the list I found this fabulous Treasury tool from Etsy Treasuries.

With this tool you can either select to show Treasuries you've created, such as those show which were curated by me, or ones that your own creations are featured in. The application features 3 size settings so creating for smaller spaces works too.

While the list is long and will take some time to go through I'll be sure to pass on any more fab finds from this section and if you've come across any you favor please feel free to share them in your comment.

New "Customers" Page

One of the added bonuses of creating digital collage sheets has been seeing the wonderful goodies other creative souls have been making~ they're just so fabulous!

And so to spotlight some of these gorgeous creations I've started a new page title "Customers". There I'll post new images as I receive them of fun and inspirational customer creations ~ I think it will be a great way to give back too, as visitors can find links to the artist's creative blogs and shops.

Customer Appreciation Sale

Let's face it... sales and marketing are not my forté. While I understand the importance of both, I don't possess a personal knack for either.

That's why at the beginning of year I decided to make a New Years resolution ~ I would follow suit with my favorite online graphics wholesaler and every time they held a sale, I would hold one too. I figured if nothing else it would take the guess work and headaches out of creating my own sales.

And so it turns out my favorite wholesaler is holding a Customer Appreciation Sale! Little did I know they would hold them so often, I think this might be the third one this month, but in keeping with my resolution I'm once again holding a SaLe.

In sticking with this resolution it also means following suit and using the same percentages my favorite wholesaler uses. While I can't quite figure out how they come up with their amounts, it turns out this week's is for 18.7% off ~ I've decided to round up to 20%, again to save headaches.
