Witches Tea Party ~ Under a Halloween Moon

It seems the fairies and elves were replaced by mischievous trolls and goblins this past weekend ~ I had a fabulous posting all set to air on Saturday but come to find out it disappeared! Not at all what you want or expect when someone as lovely as Anna of Frosted Petunias throws such a smashing bash as the Witches Tea Party ~ Under a Halloween Moon. Anna is an absolute delight and one of the talented artists who inspire me the most!

So since my helpers and I have been left out in the dark, our friend the jack-o-lantern has so graciously joined us to light the way and wish you all a very....

A Fanciful Twist's Halloween Party

Today marks another gala event by Vanessa of A Fanciful Twist ~ it's her annual Halloween Party! She always throws the most AmAzInG parties, I'm forever in awe of her talent and creative eye! While I fall short in the whimsical story telling abilities she possesses I do like to participate, if for no other reason than to venture through blogland finding more creative souls to discover and befriend.

Practical Magic Blog Party

My goodness ~ has it been a year already?! Yes, this time last year we were celebrating the first annual Practical Magic Blog Party. This year has flown by as quick as a witch on a broom ~ Wow!






Practical Magic is one of those "love-at-first-watch" movies and I was hooked from the moment I saw it. Perhaps it was the timeless love story or the notion that love, no matter what type, wins out over all. Whatever the case, I loved the relationships that the characters shared ~ it grabbed me and never let go.

Last year I was fortunate enough to win a copy of the movie which replaced the one I had lost years ago and I was thrilled! So this year while I make my rounds in blogland visiting all my fellow party-goers I'll have it playing in the background... over and over and over again (good thing the hubby works all day, LOL!)

I would like to thank the lovely and utterly enchanting Anna of Frosted Petunias for this wonderful annual event and all her hard work. I know how much effort it takes to put these parties together and she does it with all her grace and charm in tact. Up, Up and Away...

I will be taking off for the skies this weekend, with broom in hand of course, as I'm off to visit my dear, dear friend Teresa, woohoo! She lives a few states away and so I'll be hopping some planes as I make my way to the lovely state of Wisconsin ~ whoot!

I have a few firsts to experience this weekend... first time to Wisconsin.... first time getting to meet my sweet friend.... first time leaving my child and fury companions in the trusted hands of my husband for an entire weekend (gulp! ~ we'll not think about that one and hope for the best). The excitement definitely wins out over any worries though and there's loads of fun planned ~ eating out, shopping in quaint nooks, a night on the town in costume, and even a *secret* appointment of relaxation on Sunday ~ ooooh... aaaah!

It's bound to be a whirlwind weekend and just the thought of backing away from this computer for a few days ~ yes... I will be pushing that "off" button (another gulp!) ~ is a huge step for this workaholic graphic artist but the greatest thing I get to experience this weekend is the company of a timeless friendship ~ sheer magick!

So, I wish you all a wonderful weekend, for those of you celebrating Halloween ~ a frightfully good time and as always...

Once Upon a Pink October - blog theme

Once upon a cool September night an overworked graphic artist thought about the coming month of October... this had long been one of her favorite months, not just for the childhood strolls down memory lane with goblins and candy corn abounding, but for her annual participation in Going Pink for October, for another childhood memory was how she had lost her Mom to breast cancer.

She felt the annual struggle once again, of how to combine the beloved festiveness of Halloween with her fervent desire to once again participate and support the essential campaign for Going Pink in October. She thought long and hard and then it came to her... why not combine the two?? Pink witches on broomsticks?? Black damask with pink flowers?? Spiders weaving pink ribbons?? Why in her mind's eye it seemed quite possible. And so, with a little extra help from the fairies and elves, as well as a goblin or two, and in honor of my Mom... this artist presents to you...

Practical Magic blog party & theme

Ah there's certainly magic in the air today as it's finally time to celebrate the Practical Magic Blog Party, whose theme exclaims "there's a little witch in every woman". I certainly would agree that we're all capable of weaving our own magic, from the love we dish out on a daily basis, to the magical blends we come up with at supper time, a woman is synonymous with magic in my mind.

Blog parties are always SO much fun, there's loads of visiting and getting to meet new people, which I absolutely adore. There's also a tremendous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes, trust me - I know, and so I would like to extend a huge thanks to the shining stars of this event ~ Anna & Justina ~ Namasté. They also deserve a round of applause for those fabulous graphics too... aren't they just gorgeous!?! Great job ladies!!

My party visits will be a tad late as it also happens to be my youngest son's birthday today (♫Happy Birthday Josh♫) and so in my absence I've left oodles of party favors for you, my enchanting visitors, in the form of this blog theme appropriately titled Practical Magic.
